Welcome to The Raynhams

Raynham is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, consisting of the villages of SouthEast and West Raynham. It covers an area of 16.75 km2 (6.47 sq miles).

There are many facilities that serve this community.  Among these include: a primary school, several churches, a village hall which runs social and community events, and a childrens play area.

The Parish Council

The Parish Council is made up of 6 Councillors who represent the village on various matters.  We are effectively the third tier of local government, the other two being Norfolk County Council and North Norfolk District Council.

We meet at 7pm usually on the last Tuesday of every other month at the West Raynham Village Hall, The Street, West Raynham.

The public is very welcome to attend our meetings.

We're responsible for:

  • The upkeep of the green spaces behind and adjacent to the West Raynham village hall.

  • The Children’s Play Area

  • The upkeep of the Village Green & Village Sign

  • Benches and seating

  • Street lighting

  • Bus shelters

  • Llitter bins and dog bins

  • We also make comments on all planning applications, although the District Council or County Council make the decision

  • Providing general maintenance around the village

NOTICE FROM OUR LOCAL POLICE CONSTABLE

There has been an increase in rural crime across our area. In particular Ifor Williams trailers and bridle tack appear to be the main targets with various tools being an added bonus where they are easily accessible.

Whilst the Police have been out and about several comments have been made about ‘they’ll never come up here. I’m too remote for them to find me’. This is a wrong assumption to make. The more remote a property the less likely the perpetrators are to get disturbed and it will have been checked out earlier, but they also stress that even properties in populated areas are also being targeted.

Please make sure you are taking the necessary steps to protect your property and report any suspicious vehicles, preferably with an index, or suspicious activity in their area.

Thanks for your help.

Message from PC Dawson

Following a recent incident in one of the villages it would seem that some vital intelligence wasn’t being passed on to the Police or Crimestoppers and the developing situation had been going on for quite a long time. Can I ask that you put a small update on your websites and in parish/church newsletters advising that any concerns/intel can be submitted via the Constabulary website (https://imsva91-ctp.trendmicro.com:443/wis/clicktime/v1/query?url=https%3a%2f%2fwww.norfolk.police.uk&umid=64D9EED6-8DBA-1F05-B2DC-87CF97A07543&auth=76a36a0301cf7179612a4414203a61368905a968-d2672ba51febae4f806d0ce4bcf1b9d3128de719), email the SNT box at SNTFakenham@norfolk.pnn.police.uk or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Many thanks
